If you’ve ever seen a film or TV show and wondered which vehicle is the most popular of them all (go on, admit it, you’ve done it before…), then fear not. The Internet Movie Car Database (imcdb.org) lists all manner of vehicles, from motorbikes to trucks, and some clever soul has gone one step further and ranked the most popular.

The Ford Crown Victoria (better known as the humble yellow taxi) unsurprisingly tops the poll. It’s hard to think of any American film or TV show that doesn’t feature the vehicle in some form. From Heat (1995) to Friends, the ever-reliable trooper has appeared on screen 7,243 times, according to the website.

The list was compiled by online loans company Title Pro.

The iconic Ford Mustang comes in next, having most famously starred in Bullit (1968) with Steve McQueen.

Exploring the database further, Ford proves to be the most popular car make by some distance. Next is Chevrolet and in third place is German carmaker Mercedes Benz.
