London is a treasure trove of womenswear boutiques offering the best in cutting edge and vintage fashions. In particular, the city also hosts some incredible bridal boutiques, from luxury destinations where everything from gown to customer service is bespoke, to something a little more low-key. Here, we round up the best of the best and split them by area to make planning your trip both effortless and successful.

La Poésie Bridal

Monika Kashimbaya is the designer behind Parisian-inspired bridal boutique, La Poésie. Showcasing own-label designs crafted in the UK from the most premium of fabications, Kashimbaya’s space in Victoria Park offers both couture and bespoke gowns, depending on how involved the bride wishes to be in the process. Following the belief that the bride should feel like herself on her wedding day, the label’s aesthetic is understated whilst being romantic, detailed and just a little sultry.

Heart Aflutter

Heart Aflutter is a bridal boutique based in the heart of East London, and its owner, Cecilia, personally selects each and every dress that she stocks, committing to her belief that simplicity is key. Each of the dresses in her showroom are handmade by independent designers such as Made With Love and Leanne Marshall. Prices start from around £1,000, with the majority of dresses priced between £1,500 and £2,000. Each dress is made to order, so every one is unique and most fuse a modern aesthetic with a little vintage inspiration.

Les Trois Soeurs Bridal

Family-run bridal boutique Les Trois Soeurs prides itself on travelling the world in the search for the most exclusive, beautifully crafted gowns and accessories to offer its ever-growing clientele. Looking to both fashion-focused and timeless designs to add to its collection and stocking some of the industry’s most iconic labels such as Amanda Wakeley, Temperley and Caroline Castigliano, this Canary Wharf destination is arguably one of the most inspiring on our hitlist. The service is intimate and the knowledgeable staff will guide each bride-to-be through the process to ensure she finds the perfect dress to suit both her personal taste and her vision for the day.

Morgan Davies Bridal

If you’re looking for a bridal wear label that others may never have heard of then head to Morgan Davies Bridal in Clerkenwell – it specialises in stocking styles by the most exciting emerging designer talent in the industry. Believing underwear to be almost as important as the dress itself in creating the perfect look, the store’s knowledgeable staff will help you to choose and fit the styles best suited to your gown to enhance the beauty of its silhouette.

Elliott Claire Bridal

Offering traditionally beautiful gowns that fall at a more affordable price point than some of the central bridal boutiques, Elliott Claire is proof that a more modest budget doesn’t need to mean a compromise on style. Gowns cost from £150 – £1,200 and put a modern-day spin on classic design features. Think delicate lace detailing, flattering silhouettes and considered final touches.

Temperley London

One of the most well-recognised and highly appreciated bridal designers in the UK, Alice Temperley’s beautifully considered, contemporary gowns come intricately hand-embellished in a way that’s recognisable to those with an appreciation of the fashion industry. Decadent without being overwhelming, the Temperley aesthetic fuses fantasy with function and the result is something memorable, timeless and altogether unique.

Bridal Rogue Gallery

Bridal Rogue Gallery in Marylebone stocks both designer and couture wedding gowns by the likes of Eliza Jane Howell, LouLou and Ghost, as well as a plethora of premium accessories that promise to complete your look to perfection. Keen to have a say in the design elements of your dress? They also offer a made-to-measure service that you can be involved in from start to finish, and a level of service that will ensure you’re happy with the final result. Boutiques can also be found in Harrogate and York.

Elizabeth Todd Designs

There’s something that feels particularly personal about a family-owned boutique and Elizabeth Todd Designs captures that exact feeling. Specialising in corsetry and using only the most luxurious of fabrications (silk Duchesse satin, Chantilly lace, silk taffeta and crystals), in-house designer Sophie Garratt crafts unique designs that reflect each bride’s personal style. Alongside the gown, the store also stocks handmade accessories, from tiaras to bird cages, that will offset the gowns and lend each look a considered final touch. Stephanie Allin Couture

Launched in 1991 and initially based in Wales before expanding to London and Paris, Stephanie Allin Couture is proof that a passion, when executed correctly, can turn into a successful business. Still at the helm of the label today, Stephanie looks to art, travel and literature to inspire her designs, and she believes her collections relate to specific periods in her life. Altogether personal and ultimately showcasing a stunning collection of bridal gowns, this Marylebone boutique is well worth a visit if you’re searching for the perfect dress.

Jane Bourvis

Brides looking to celebrate the style of decades gone by on their wedding day should consider adding West London boutique, Jane Bourvis to their search. Every dress in the collection is completely unique and is crafted using antique lace to reference the silhouettes of the 1920s and 1930s, so each dress has a story to tell. An authentic, traditional take on wedding dress design, Bourvis offers something more traditional than many of the other more contemporary boutiques in our line-up.

Globally recognised for its signature floating floral back designs, Pronovias is the ultimate in striking bridal gown design. One of the few brands to showcase its collections on the runway, it’s a representation of how the classic white bridal dress can also be something eclectic, relevant and how it can communicate a sense of fashion awareness. The store on New Bond Street stocks everything from the gown itself to the necessary add-ons (petticoats, belts, head-dresses and jewellery) so be sure to add it to your list of places to visit and feel inspired to choose a gown that reflects your personal sense of style.

Jenny Packham

Famed for its celebrity following and championing an almost Grecian approach to bridal gown design, Jenny Packham captures an ethereal sense of romanticism within every piece that she produces. Celebrity budget or not, the flagship boutique in Mayfair is well worth a visit, not least because of its glossy interior and near-perfect layout. Polished and altogether elegant, the store aesthetic mimics both ready to wear and bridal designs and sets the tone for a luxury experience like no other.

The Wedding Club

If you’re looking specifically for a Zuhair Murad dress then The Wedding Club is the place to head for – it’s the only boutique in London to stock its ready to wear bridal collection. Alongside this, however, sit a host of other gowns by both British and International labels, each of which focuses on quality and style with an appreciation of fashion’s interchangeable trends.

Mirror Mirror

Initially based in picturesque Crouch End and now boasting a flagship store in Islington, Mirror Mirror is one of North London’s most recognised bridal boutiques. Its owners, Jane and Maria have worked together for 28 years, so their aesthetic is clear and their knowledge of the industry unrivaled. Sourcing and designing an array of gowns to suit all tastes and working from their design studio on site, they stay as close to the collection and the inspirations as possible.

Not only does Mia Spoka Cockfosters stock a vast selection of beautiful wedding gowns but it’s also one of the only boutiques in the city to also house menswear attire as well as bridesmaids dresses and flower girl outfits, so it’s the ultimate one-stop shop. Alterations and tailoring are done in-house and consultants are trained in their specific areas and are on hand to help throughout your visit, but a pre-scheduled appointments are advisable.

Belle and Bunty

In 2010, Alice Shreeve & Hannah Coniam-Thompson developed their ready-to-wear collection and added a bridal design-shaped string to their bow after creating their own wedding dresses (named the Belle and the Bunty – two styles that continue to exist in the current day collections). The aesthetic is one of modern glamour mixed with classic romance and each gown has a vintage feel to it. All designs are made in the UK and utilise only the most premium of fabrications (think delicate lace and pure silk).
