London is home to an abundance of great hotels where heads can be rested after a busy day exploring the capital. It can be difficult to choose where to stay when there are so many options. These are a few of the best boutique hotels in East London.

Cable Street Inn

An 18th century former alehouse, the Cable Street Inn is just a three-minute walk from Shadwell train and DLR station. There are only three rooms available, but anyone lucky enough to secure one can look forward to period style Victorian furnishing complemented by contemporary art. Each room has distinctive features, including a four-poster bed, a Juliet balcony or an ornate fireplace.

The Old Surgery B&B E14

Barely a one-minute walk from Limehouse train and DLR station, The Old Surgery B&B E14 formerly served as a doctor’s surgery for over 100 years. Nowadays the 200-year-old townhouse is a quaint place to stay, with a shared lounge, perfect for anyone looking for somewhere with a homely feel. Children under the age of 12 can stay free with a parent in Room 2 – a travel cot and a futon are available on request. While it is currently under refurbishment, the place plans to be up and running again in 2018.
