Updated: 16 June 2016
A highly anticipated event in the capital’s cultural calendar will be the opening of over 200 hidden and little known gardens to the public, located across 27 London boroughs and ranging from historic and traditional to innovative. Organisers of Open Garden Squares, London Parks and Garden Trust have revealed some of the many different free events, talks and activities for this year, including highlights like the return of the poets-in-residence programme #RemixedBorders. Cyclists have the choice of joining three different group rides, taking place in gardens in either Bloomsbury, Regent’s Park and Hampstead, the City and East London, or Kensington, Chelsea and South West London. The participating gardens will host their own exciting events including talks on aquaponics, beekeeping and urban farming. There will also be a variety of workshops on medieval soap-ball making or seed planting and you’ll get the chance to join herb discovery walks. Open Garden Squares invites you to enjoy London’s beautiful green spaces on a relaxing break from hectic city life.
