Culture Trip spoke with founder of teamLab, Toshiyuki Inoko about the ideas behind the collective’s current London exhibition which invites you to rethink the physical and conceptual boundaries between artworks.

In one gallery, digital butterflies flutter around as a virtual waterfall moves between visitors’ feet, while in another, darkened space, flowers literally burst into bloom at the presence of a visitor. These are just a few of the amazing immersive artworks you can experience by the interdisciplinary group, teamLab at their London exhibition, Transcending Boundaries. Referring to themselves as ultratechnologists, teamLab explore how digital technology can give us a different perspective on the world, by situating the viewer directly in the work.

teamLab: Transcending Boundaries is at Pace Gallery, 6 Burlington Gardens, London, W1S 3ET until March 11, 2017.
