London's 02 Arena: More Than Just a Concert Venue

Formerly known as The Millennium Dome, The 02 Arena on London’s Greenwich Peninsula is a multi-purpose indoor entertainment venue used for showcasing popular music concerts and hosting acclaimed sporting events. It is now the busiest entertainment arena in the world with ticket sales of 2.12 million, overtaking Manchester’s MEN Arena and New York’s Madison Square Garden. The 20,000 seat arena is also much more than just a concert venue, as explored in this handy guide.

Climb Up The 02

This unique 90 minute guided experience enables visitors to climb over the top of The 02’s iconic domed roof and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the London skyline. Suspended in the air 53 meters above ground level, visitors tentatively tackle the walkway while wearing full safety gear and are fully attached to their individual climb guides throughout the experience. The summit’s observation platform allows climbers to marvel at 360° views of Canary Wharf, the Docklands and Greenwich before returning back to base. Don’t forget to pick up the official merchandise as a reminder of your adventure with T-shirts, photos and keyrings all on sale at the end of your experience. The exhibition is open year round (weather permitting) and ticket prices cost £28 per person, although 02 are running a 50% off promotion any day in September if you’re a Priority customer.

From traditional British pub grub to sushi, The Avenue at The 02 has a variety of well-known restaurants and bars to cater to all tastes and ages. Choose from nearly 40 outlets including American favorites Frankie and Benny’s, the hugely popular Portuguese Nando’s, or the classy Latin Gaucho restaurant. There are also two mouth-wateringly good buffet cuisines (The Water Margin & Jimmy’s World Grill & Bar) which serve food from all around the world: Italian, Mexican, Chinese, and Spanish.
