Plot Kitchen

Joining Tootling’s thriving food scene is Plot, serving up classic British dishes in the now familiar small plate style. Expect a changing seasonal menu, so at this time of year it’ll be warming winter favourites such as Scotch eggs, braised beef cheek with pickled cabbage, or chicken and ham terrine.

Duck Duck Goose

Inspired by Hong Kong cafes and roast meat shops, duck duck goose will offer an informal, affordable food. The menu is divided into the classic Cantonese cooking techniques with BBQ roast meats, steamed whole fish and a prawn toast to end all others.

Where: Pop Brixton, 49 Brixton Station Road, London, SW9 8PQ

Bleecker burger

Having lived the nomadic outdoor life in various London boroughs before finally taking root in Spitalfields, Bleecker is now branching out to Victoria for its permanent indoor venue. Expect New York style burgers featuring British aged meat, American cheese, secret sauce and a sesame seed bun (no brioche here). Commuting home out of Victoria station just got better.

Where: 205 Victoria St, London SW1E 5NE.

Palatino

Steve Parle brings sophisticated Roman-style Italian food to Clerkenwell. It’s an all day affair, open from 8am and serving great coffee and pastries. Come lunchtime, as well as the Josper grill, there are two pizza ovens serving pizza bianco. But it’s the pasta you want to come for, it’s made fresh each day. Practically next door to the Culture Trip office, we’re thrilled.

Where: 71 Central Street, Clerkenwell, EC1V 8AB
