It’s nearly Mother’s Day, so it’s time to get planning how you can pamper and spoil your mum. From treatments and massages to spa breaks and afternoon teas, we’ve done the planning for you. All you have to do is book it. Mum’s the word.

Spa days

There’s nothing nicer than spending some quality time together, so book a half-day off and indulge in a London spa day. Treat your mum to relaxing spa day at the Sanook Spa at the Courthouse hotel which combines an hour’s facial treatment with a Champagne afternoon tea and two hours to enjoy the five star spa’s facilities. It’s the best way to say thank you!

Le Kalon Spa in South Kensington is also up for pampering mothers this month. Its marble spa is set within the Bentley Hotel, where you can spend a half-day or full day enjoying a hammam treatment, facial and a few hours in the pool, sauna and gym. Top off the day with a luxurious afternoon tea.

And finally, all aboard the Sunborn Hotel, London’s floating hotel in a five star yacht, for a pampering afternoon in The Symphony Therapy Rooms. Their treatment includes a body wrap or a massage, wine and a sharing platter, or you could even upgrade yourselves and stay the night.

Manis for mums

Dial up the glam factor for her digits and book her into a luxurious manicure before you take her out for a long leisurely lunch. Muse of London, near Oxford Street, does a mini OPI gel manicure in 30 minutes or Images in Clapham Common has a more extensive gel nail makeover that takes 50 minutes. Treat her to a full blown Shellac mani and pedi at Eighty-8 on Kings Road in Fulham, before popping into Bluebird for lunch.

Relaxing treatments

If you’ve already got something planned, why not add in a quick treatment as a surprise? Head to Crystal Palace Spa in Marylebone for a relaxing and refreshing Turkish hammam experience. It comes with a coffee or mud body mask which helps to demineralise your body and refresh tired skin. Pamper her with an Elemis facial at Serenity Therapeutic Massage in Barnet — she’ll feel like a new woman in under an hour. At Belle Cour salon behind Westminster you can book in for a Decloer Aha Skin Refiner Anti-Aging facial that’s meant to have great results (perhaps just don’t tell her what it’s called).

We love the full body Thai massage at Netala Massage and Therapy Centre in Soho, which takes a more holistic view of massage treatments. If she hasn’t got long, you can opt for a quick 30 minute back massage: Ying Thai massage is conveniently near Kings Cross and offers a modern, minimalist experience that’s guaranteed to set her up for a good day. Or give her the gift of lighter feet with a lovely Thai foot massage from Wan in Richmond — just the ticket to relieve tired toes.
