Did you awaken to see a unique sight, a sight like no other? The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta returned to the skies of London in June 2016 for a stunning and historic flight. Supported by The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, 47 hot air balloons flew between Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf, directly over the O2 and London City Airport, before soaring over the sights leading them out of London to the Essex countryside. Londoners were wandering the streets, and many managed to get a glimpse of the iconic hot air balloons, alongside some uniquely shaped ones too. The Culture Trip London has collected London’s greatest captures of this event.
