Here’s How You Can Have Christmas Dinner in Hogwarts’ Great Hall

Christmas is already the most wonderful time of the year but it’s just got a whole lot more magical because you can have Christmas dinner in the Hogwarts Great Hall.

Yes Warner Bros. Studios is opening the doors to Hogwarts this festive season for three very special dinners across 11th – 13th December. Not only will you be dining in the very same room that the movies were filmed in, it will be dressed just as it was for the Yule Ball scenes in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It’ll be the first time the Hall has been set up this way for the studio tours, complete with snow-topped trees, icicles and a magical orchestra.

Guests can expect the red carpet treatment too; the evenings kick off with a prosecco and canapé reception before sitting down to a two-course Christmas dinner. The menu features chicken liver parfait with apple and quince and cranberry-stuffed Norfolk turkey with the trimmings, or twice-baked Wookey Hole cheddar soufflé and a roasted squash, barley and chestnut wellington with the trimmings for vegetarians. A dessert selection including Christmas pudding with brandy sauce, chocolate and clementine bavarois, and gingerbread and blueberry trifle is served on Platform 9 ¾ right next to the Hogwarts Express.

As well as the feast, guests also get the chance to go on the studio tour, which will be extra festive for the occasion – sets like the kitchen of The Burrow and the Gryffindor common room will be dressed as they were for winter scenes, and the amazing Hogwarts Castle model will be dusted with a layer of snow. The magical evening concludes with music and dancing, just like at the Yule Ball – it almost makes up for not getting that Hogwarts acceptance letter aged 11.

There are only three festive dinners happening and as they sold out in a flash, those attending will be the envy of Muggles the world over. The fact that Harry Potter is still going strong over a decade after the final book in the original series was released gives us hope that more Potter related activities will be coming in the next year. Keep your eyes peeled, we certainly will be!
