The most nail-biting and exciting race of the year is back! On the same day as the famous boat race, comes the (almost as) famous goat race – two friendly goats named Oxford and Cambridge competing down the track at Spitalfields City Farm. It is primarily a fundraising event, one that raised over £15,000 last year, and all the proceeds from ticket sales go straight to the farm animals. Don’t worry, the goats are in fantastic condition with regular health checks, and they are used to the visiting crowds, encouraged by food, and never forced to run. With live music, food stalls, bars, bookies, and arts and crafts, this will be a silly day all day long. It is a ticketed event, and those lucky enough to live in Tower Hamlets can get discounted tickets.
