Don’t bring around a cloud to rain on our parade because we cannot wait to be enthralled by this production of Funny Girl at the Savoy Theatre. The critically acclaimed musical stars the Olivier Award-winning Sheridan Smith as thespian Fanny Brice. A showcase of phenomenal talent, the show features music by Jule Stune, direction by Michael Mayer and choreography by Lynne Page. Recounting the story of Fanny Brice’s rise to fame from a Brooklyn music hall singer to one of Broadway’s biggest stars, the musical presents her as a celebrated comedienne who, behind the scenes, dealt with an appropriately dramatic love life to parallel her stage life. Expect recognisable classics such as ‘People’, ‘You Are Woman, I Am Man’, ‘I’m the Greatest Star’ and, of course, ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’.
