In celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday, the Duke of York Square and the Royal Commonwealth Society are raising the bar high for this year’s celebrations. In addition to the normal Fine Food Market hosted each Saturday, a special edition will be staged to highlight the Queen’s status as the head of the Commonwealth, with a diverse range of food stalls from around the world to whet your appetite. With 25 food stalls in total, dig into spicy Sri Lankan cuisine from Kothu Kothu, sample a taste of Ghana from Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen and everything in between. The Dixie Ticklers, the Duke of York’s own jazz band will be playing a selection of the Royal Family’s favourite numbers throughout the day to set the tone. There will even be a birthday cake, made by Cakehole, a regular Saturday stall holder, cut at 3PM by a Queenie look-alike. If you’re wishing to celebrate the Queen’s birthday with an alternative, foodie twist, this is where you should be.
