Culture Trip was given access to the wonderfully fantastical House of MinaLima in Soho to view the new display of original prints and memorabilia by the award-winning graphic designers behind the visual identity for both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts film franchise.
Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima’s have created a brilliantly theatrical exhibition for their exceptionally detailed artworks, that transports you back to the wizarding world of 1920s New York.
Without giving too much away, you can expect designs of the official insignia for the Magical Congress of the USA, Newt Scamander wanted posters, the front page of The Prophet newspaper and advertising posters for the Follies. There are also two new books A Case of Beasts – Explore the Film Wizardry of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, an exclusive look behind the scenes of the film and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – An Original Screenplay.
At the press launch they served up strudel in a suitcase in honour of when Queenie magically makes the Austrian dessert for Newt and Jacob. So what can you expect when the exhibition opens at 00.01am on Friday 18 November? Well Eduardo and Miraphora will be signing copies of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – An Original Screenplay as well as the limited edition premium prints, there be competitions and other wizardry fun during the 24-hour opening.
