Coming from Québec, the home of modern circus discipline, The 7 Fingers (Les 7 Doigts de la Main) make their return to the UK for the premiere of TRIPTYQUE. Branching outside of their own in-house choreographers, this new show is co-produced by Sadler’s Wells in collaboration with some of the world’s contemporary choreographers who are all pushing boundaries. Split into three pieces, the first performance is a gravity defying performance by Marie Chouinard, portraying the effects gravity has on body movement; followed by a 30-minute hand balancing quintet choreographed by Victor Quijada that will have you on the edge of your seat; concluding with a performance primarily emphasising the circus and the talent these eight artists have in freeing themselves from every obstacle in their way. Directed by Samuel Tétreault, one of the seven founding directors referred to in the company’s name, these artists are defining the genre of contemporary circus.
