Did you ever take a look at the art and the aesthetics behind the functional and familiar in London’s moving metropolis? The London Transport Museum invites you to discover how design is encountered in our everyday journeys without us knowing and how this has evolved over the last century. Uncovering the fascinating designs behind London’s public transport, the Designology will range from the visual to the virtual, as well as from Victorian engineering genius to modern masterpieces. The exhibition demonstrates how every aspect of London’s transport system has been thoughtfully designed and explores its architecture, technology and engineering. Embark on a journey through historic maps, posters from the golden age of travel, tickets and signage, and get an idea of the city of the future thanks to a pop-up Design Studio showcasing contemporary design innovations. Making your way through the exhibition, you will be fascinated by the design hidden in the familiarity of everyday life.

📅  From 20 May 2016: Saturday – Thursday 10AM – 6PM, Friday 11AM – 6PM

📍  London Transport Museum, Covent Garden Piazza, London, WC2E 7BB
