In a recent interview, Dane DeHaan spoke about his frankly bonkers new thriller, A Cure For Wellness. The actor described taking on the role of a young Wall Street man who is sent on a mission by his company to find – and retrieve – a missing colleague from a retreat in the Alps. And that’s when things get really weird.

DeHaan previously starred as James Dean in the Biopic Life, and also appeared opposite Oscar-nominated Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Talking about his latest film, A Cure for Wellness (see trailer above), DeHaan said it is like nothing else he has ever done before. He explained that the reason films like A Cure For Wellness aren’t made by studios more often is because the studios have to make money.

We also spoke about the character he plays, who is an ambitious young Wall Street go-getter, and DeHaan expanded on what he wanted to get across from Lockheart.

There are also some gruesome scenes later involving eels and a terrifying encounter with a dentist. DeHaan told us just how challenging the movie was to make, but that it falls into his favourite genre of horror.

A Cure For Wellness is on general release from 24 February in the UK.
