Updated: 5 May 2016
After the sell out run in 2015, the Sony World Photography Awards bring a world of life back to the historic East and West Wings of Somerset House. This vibrant display shows over 500 winning and shortlisted images from over 230,000 entries across 186 countries who entered the largest contemporary photography competition in the world. Covering a variety of genres, you have the chance to discover and explore the talented photographers in commercial, travel, portraiture, photojournalism, landscapes, architecture, sport and so much more, as they celebrate only the most remarkable images taken in the past year. The photographers on display at Somerset House come from a range of backgrounds, and hold powerful stories behind their images, whether it’s full of humour, emotion or an image of the harsh (and often hidden) reality, as awards go out to the Professional, Open, Youth, Student Focus and National categories. Full of colour and culture, this highly prodigious competition is the highlight of the Spring art calendar, and is not to be missed.

📅 22 April – 8 May 2016: Monday to Friday 10AM – 9PM, Saturday & Sunday 10AM – 8PM

📍 Somerset House, Strand, London
