Now that Halloween is over, the next big event in the run up to Christmas is Bonfire Night which takes place every year on 5th November. It’s argued that there’s no better place to watch bonfires being burnt and fireworks being lit than in London, where the historic tradition traces its roots back to Guy Fawkes’ failed gunpowder plot in 1605. Victoria Park Fireworks

Saturday, 7th November, 7 PM

For the first time in five years Victoria Park will be hosting a brand new fireworks display lighting up the east London skies courtesy of Tower Hamlets Council. This fantastic event is free for all the family and there’s promised to be a stunning array of dazzling visuals and impressive pyrotechnics set to an atmospheric soundtrack.

Starting at 7 PM, visitors are encouraged to grab their coats and wrap up warm before heading down early to guarantee a good spot, as large queues are expected.

Southwark Park Fireworks

Thursday, 5th November, 5 PM

With an attendance of over 30,000 people in 2014, this year’s annual firework display in Southwark is set to be bigger and better with tickets already sold out. If you’ve snapped up your tickets you’re set for a fantastic night at this family friendly free event complete with entertainment, food and drink stalls and of course an unforgettable fireworks and bonfire display. Gates open at 5 PM, with last entry at 6.30 PM, so make sure you arrive early to beat the queues. The venue operates a strict ‘No Ticket, No Entry’ policy.

Richmond Family Fireworks

Sunday, 8th November, 5 PM

This annual event hosted by the Richmond Athletic Association (RAA) is a fantastic, fully choreographed fireworks display and musical spectacle. Attracting thousands year after year, 2015’s theme is the hugely anticipated ‘A Night at the Musicals’, featuring a stunning soundtrack of the West End’s best loved songs. With entertainment for all the family, along with stalls, competitions and a funfair, Richmond’s annual event promises to be truly magical. Advance discounted tickets can be purchased online (£8 per adult £5 per child) whilst full price tickets (cash only) will be sold on the gates from 4:30 PM on the day, subject to venue capacity. Bishop’s Park Fireworks

Friday, 6th November, 6 PM

Located in Fulham’s flagship park, this family friendly display put on by Hammersmith and Fulham Council is set to be a particular success with the little ones as they have their own special children’s fireworks display starting ahead of the main musically choreographed event at 8 PM. With not one but two fantastic fireworks displays and of course a huge bonfire, along with a funfair, food stalls and a bar, there’s plenty on offer to keep the whole family happy. Gates open at 6 PM and tickets can be purchased either in advance or at the gate. £8 per ticket, free for children under five.

Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival

Saturday, 7th November, 3 PM

For an alternative fireworks display head to one of the biggest events in London, the annual Fireworks Festival held at the fabulous Alexandra Palace which is set to attract over 50,000 people. With a range of fantastic entertainment including a German Bier festival, family funfair, laser show, street food, craft beer village and even an ice rink there’s something for everyone at this bonfire extravaganza. Gates open at 3 PM with the fireworks display lighting up the north west London skies starting later on in the evening at 8 PM. Advance booking online only; £10 per adult £7.50 per child.
