Do you love anything and everything that celebrates Basque culture? Then you have come to the right place. Baskfest 2016 will combine several disciplines ranging from film, visual arts, dance and performance, music, photography and, who could ever host a festival without gastronomy. Originating in San Sebastian, the 2016 European Capital of Culture, this three-day festival combines these disciplines with the unique traditions of this unique culture. Throughout the weekend, there will be evenings of live performances by dancers Igor and Moreno, live music (featuring experimental folk, electro-pop, and Basque percussion) by composers and songwriters Isa Suarez, Iñigo Ugarteburu, and Felipe Ugarte, and DJs. But wait! That’s not all… On display will be artwork by the incredible Arantxa Echarte and Juanan Eguiguren, screenings of multi-award winning film documentaries, and the chance to enjoy Baskfest pintxos – designed by Michelin-starred Basque chef Arzak. Trust us when we say you don’t want to miss this, and why wouldn’t you when it’s free!
