It’s that time of year again: Carnival is back, and it means business. Get ready to jam, jerk and jive the bank holiday away at Britain’s biggest street party. Now in its 51st year, this annual event is the perfect way to spend your bank holiday with friends and strangers alike. Let yourself be transported from dreary London to Caribbean paradise.

For more information on locations, please visit the Notting Hill Carnival website

If Carnival isn’t your thing, why not head down to the river and watch the exciting beginnings of the Clipper Round The World Boat Race. Starting at St Katharine Docks, the race will wind its way through the city passing Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, Greenwich and the O2 Arena, before setting off for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Catch ‘em whilst you can.
