A Daring, Sexy & Astonishingly Hairy Circus Performance

Picture of Ellie Griffiths
Updated: 16 June 2016
The weird, wacky, and rather hairy circus show, BARBU, is an unmissable force at this year’s London Wonderground. Straight off their critically acclaimed premiere at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, each performer maintains incredible strength, alongside a sense of silliness throughout the performance. This sexy circus show created by one of the world’s greatest circus companies, Cirque Alfonse, provides perfectly groomed beards and edge-of-your-seat acrobatic tricks straight from Canada in a performance like no other. As simple curiosities are discovered, the performance delves into the origins of Montreal’s circus scene from the end of the 19th century straight through to the beginning of the 20th century. Where skills are shown alongside muscly torsos, BARBU introduces the old-meets-new concept resulting in a sense of organised mayhem. Accompanied by a heart-thumping score, you wouldn’t dare miss finding out which beard will win!
