Sefton Park is in a pleasant suburb of Liverpool, south of the city centre. The area is laden with history – the park itself and the Victorian glass-domed Palm House within both enjoy English Heritage-listed status. The Beatles hail from the south side of Liverpool and the real Penny Lane is just a few minutes from the park. Here are the best hotels in the Sefton Park area, all bookable through Culture Trip.

All rooms have rainfall showers and artwork depicting the docks as they looked during their heavy-industry heyday, while the view from the rooms offers a genteel, modern-day comparison.
