Pitch your own tent or enjoy one of the glamping options with comfortable beds, electricity and lighting. You’ll also find an 18-hole golf course and club mere steps from your accommodation. 3. Bury View Farm and Campsite

Whether you’ve come to see the autumn leaves turn or to enjoy a summer getaway, Bury View Farm & Campsite is the perfect countryside escape. This working farm is home to geese, ducks and hens, and they welcome campers and caravanners (and their four-legged companions) all year round. Enjoy a night barbecue at the campsite (they offer electric hook-up) or head over to neighbouring Bristol, Wells or Cheddar for fantastic English views and local delicacies. 5. Pitchperfect Camping

If you like camping the old-fashioned way, then Pitchperfect Camping is the perfect place for you and your family to pitch a tent and relax in the heart of the idyllic Somerset countryside. In the middle of this family-friendly, tent-only campsite is a large playing area with a wide-open field for the kids to explore while the parents kick back and relax. 6. Stowford Manor Farm

Camping, Bed and Breakfast

Right by the River Frome and set amid magnificent medieval buildings, Stowford Manor Farm is a picturesque spot that’s easily reachable from both Bradford-on-Avon and Bath. Enjoy a day fishing, paddling or boating on the river, or head into the market town of Frome to visit its pretty shops, cafes and galleries. After a day in nature, enjoy cream tea and sweets in the garden and tearoom. You’ll also find the only river swimming club in the country here, which you can join for a nominal fee. 7. Field725 Camping

Experience eco-glamping in the rolling hills of Somerset with Field725. It’s a peaceful rural escape that’s perfect for a family getaway or a romantic weekend. Stay in a safari-style tent during the summer months or cosy up in a woodland yurt during the winter. If you’re more of a traditionalist, they also have standard camping options stretched out over 75ha (186 acres) of farm and woodlands.
