Updated: 30 March 2016
Started by the gin-loving married couple who wanted an event to meet with same-minded people whilst enjoying good gin together, the first Gin Festival was held in early 2012. From humble beginnings, the festival has grown massively alongside the UK gin market and now hosts events for 4000 people over two days. This year, with over 100 gins, the UK’s largest Gin Festival is coming to Cambridge. Showcasing a variety of the best gins, the festival offers to all gin lovers brilliant live music entertainment, talks from gin industry experts, and delicious food. Upon arrival, you will be handed your Gin Festival glass to take home and a brochure, full of information on all the gins you can try, a little about each company, and the suggested garnish. Drink tokens can be purchased at the front desk, as all gins served at the festival cost £5 per drink, including a quality tonic and fresh garnish. Whether you’re a gin lover or you want to find out more about good gin, the festival is worth a visit.
