Yes, there has been a little uproar over the cost of renovating Buckingham Palace and sure Liz’s hubby might be a little out there sometimes but the Queen and Prince Philip have been married for 69 freaking years people!

Whilst many of you are probably glued to your laptops watching all the OMG drama unfold on Netflix’s new series, The Crown, our dear Queen and her husband Prince Philip, were celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary earlier this week – with lots of champagne and scones from Fortnums we imagine. Why are we fussed? Well, 69 years of being married to one person in this day and age is quite the accomplishment, right?

The couple got married on November 20, 1947, (a mere year after war ravaged throughout Europe) and despite the odd familial and political scandal, have been starry-eyed ever since.

Just look at how beautiful they were back in 1947…

And let’s not even talk about how cute they looked when they actually got hitched…

Ever since that dreamy Disney princess wedding…

It’s been 69 years of glorious side profiles…

69 years of cute grandkids…

69 years of wearing these flashy numbers…

69 years of babies…

69 years of WTF looks…
