The Best Bars In Briggate Leeds

1. Smokestack

Located at the lower end of Briggate, past the main shops, Smokestack is a wonderful place to listen to some soul and old school Motown. The expertly trained and endlessly knowledgeable bartenders mix up some seriously good cocktails, and once you’ve had a bit of dutch courage you can take to the dance floor, where a DJ spins old-school funk and soul anthems.

2. Stone Roses Bar

A hip late-night haunt, this Briggate bar offers a great happy hour and has its DJs spinning indie rock music all night. A bar suitable for the most fervent party-goers, Stone Roses Bar closes at 6am every night. The staff are incredibly friendly and the drinks are good value for money, so come here for a long and fun night out.

3. The Angel Inn

Located right in the heart of Leeds city centre, The Angel Inn is a typical British pub offering some fine ales and classic pub grub. Loved by locals and popular with students for its cheap pints and generous food portions, this cosy pub has beautiful wood-panelled walls and old bookshelves, making you feel right at home with its comfy chairs and welcoming staff.

A bit of a hipster hangout, Sela bar serves global artisan beers, cocktails and pizzas. This is a great place to come and catch a live band and drink delicious cocktails while feasting on some seriously good thin-crust Italian pizza. Try some of the tempting toppings such as pulled pork or goat’s cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, or keep it classic with a margarita.

5. Bar Fibre

Bar Fibre is a Leeds partying institution, and what once started out in 2000 as a bar with just one floor has now become a four-floor super bar on Lower Briggate. Cheap drinks and good two-for-one offers mean there’s always plenty of fun to be had, as well as a great happy hour every night of the week. They host occasional live music acts and DJs spin tunes on most nights.
