The celebrated multi award-winning play Noises Off by Michael Frayn received the Olivier and Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy when it was first presented in 1982. Directed by Blanche McIntyre the legendary, riotous comedy bliss is coming back to the Nuffield Theatre. Written as a play in a play, Noises Off serves up a glimpse into the onstage and offstage antics of a touring company as they hurtle towards a disastrous final performance. As the touring troupe desperately tries to hold their shambolic production of ‘Nothing On’ together and with under 24 hours to go until curtain-up, everything goes wrong, starting from their dress rehearsal and forgotten lines to not-so-secret romances and hilarious malfunctions. Can Selsdon stay sober long enough to make curtain-up and will Brooke ever find her contact lenses? This hilarious comedy ensures much laughter and is a production not to be missed.
