The Oxford Festival of the Arts is coming back this summer with the boldest programme in its eight year history. The major regional celebration of arts and culture will feature a plethora of high-profile speakers and events throughout its two-week run. The Sheldonian Theatre, Ashmolean Museum, Botanic Garden and Oxford Playhouse will host events in collaboration with several colleges across the arts spectrum, from drama to gaming. The major outdoor exhibition ‘Women Create Change’ will present a photographic portrait series commissioned from photographer Alison Baskerville, reflecting women’s changing roles in all walks of life since the war. There will also be a free open-air opera screening of Glyndebourne’s production of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and musical offerings will include performances from leading vocal ensemble The Tallis Scholars. Visitors can also taste food and join workshops on the Culinary Arts Day, where the Festival Hub will be transformed into a food mecca for all ages. Offering everything from photography to opera, the festival will definitely suit any taste.
