If there’s one thing we do know, it’s that people go absolutely gaga for pugs.

If you’re like us and get super emotional at the sight of a crushed up, fat puggy face, then your prayers have been answered as a festival completely dedicated to the #thepuglife is coming to England this summer.

The Piazza at MediaCityUK in Manchester will see a load of the four-legged beauties waltz down the red carpet (literally) on July 16, as the TV- and film-themed Pugfest Manchester gets underway. Beware of the poocherazzi at this glamorous event. Aside from the bling, the pups will be competing in an Oscars-style dog show in which both pets and owners can compete and mingle with dog-obsessed celebs. Expect lots of treats, a pug napping zone, gin and tonic (for the humans only) and a lovely afternoon tea experience. Oh and pucker up as there’s also a kissing booth at the event too.

It’s not all fun and getting fat though. The pugs will also put their skills to the test in a doggie-dash racing game. After that, the dogs and their owners can go on rides, play games and munch on treats together. Good news is, is that you don’t have to own a pug to attend, but if you try and enter the place with any other breed of dog, you’ll be asked to leave – even if it is a corgi…

Tickets for Pugfest 2017 cost £8 per adult and £5 for kids. Pugs go free. For further information, visit their website.
