The port city of Bodrum in Turkey may be famous for its castles and historical sites, but it’s the pristine beaches and turquoise waters that have turned the area into a major summer hotspot. If you’re looking for a place to stay that’s close to the sea, here are the best beach hotels in Bodrum – bookable on Culture Trip.

Book a sea-view room at the Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum, and you’ll be able to gaze at the Aegean Sea from your own private balcony or terrace. Of course, if you want a truly spectacular view, talk to your concierge and they’ll arrange a helicopter tour of the aptly named Paradise Bay. When you’re finished flying around the coast, head to the hotel beach bar, Lucca by the Sea, and grab a signature burrata pizza.

Want to relax in style? This resort might be what you’re looking for. Caresse has a private beach featuring a sunbathing area made from teak decking built into the ocean. The result is a natural saltwater pool, and a fantastic photo opportunity. The rest of the hotel is pretty cool, too – especially the Glass Lounge, thanks to its unique sunken seating. It’s an excellent place to watch the sun set over the Aegean Sea.

Diamond of Bodrum Hotel

The spacious pebble beach at Diamond of Bodrum Hotel has plenty of sunbeds and loungers, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot to soak up some rays. The resort is also just 500m (1,640ft) away from Bodrum centre, making it ideal for travellers who want to explore the town and its cosmopolitan bars and traditional stores. Guests can also enjoy indoor and outdoor pools, in the unlikely event you get tired of the beach.

Of course, if that sounds like too much effort, you can always just chill in the sea or the hotel’s infinity pool. The Bodrum EDITION is also a 10-minute drive from the Yalikavak Marina, so guests can venture over there and check out the stylish private yachts as they sail in from the ocean.

And if you’re staying in Turkey, you really need to try a traditional Turkish hammam bath.

The family can meet up again for dinner at the Poseidon restaurant, and then pick out their favourite dessert at the hotel patisserie. You could even take an ice cream down to the beach.

Guests at the Akkan Beach Hotel can enjoy stunning views of the historic Bodrum Castle from the resort’s private beach. The crystal-clear waters make it a great location for snorkelling, but if you’d rather stay on dry land, there’s plenty of other things to do in the area. Zeki Muren Arts Museum is just a three-minute walk away, and there are several restaurants nearby, too. We recommend stopping by La Pasion Restaurante for a plate of freshly caught shrimp.
