Among the many excellent international and Dutch restaurants in Amsterdam, there are a number of fantastic delis, takeout joints and tavernas that specialise in Greek cuisine. These exceptional eateries all serve a fine selection of tasty Greek specialities including gyros, halloumi cheese and fresh sea food.

Meat & Greek uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients to make traditional gyros kebabs. Despite its name, Meat & Greek actually makes several vegetarian options alongside their delicious, meat filled wraps. Everything on their menu is mouthwatering and served on crisp, artisanal pita bread.

2. Morena ann de Amstel

Like all good Greek delicatessens, Morena aan de Amstel sells a wide range of filling lunchtime snacks, larger meals and traditional pita-based dishes. The deli actually looks directly onto the River Amstel and is only a short walk away from Magere Brug, the Portuguese Synagogue and Rembrandtplein.
