It also boasts a large array of truly superb restaurants. From Michelin quality gastronomy to more modest establishments nestled in the mountains themselves, we’ve selected the best.

1. Ecco St Moritz

Located in the beautiful hotel Giardino Mountain, Ecco on Snow is a true culinary delight, with its sublime cuisine orchestrated by the exceptionally talented, two Michelin star chef, Rolf Fliegauf. The stunning white and gold décor complements the fantastic flavours of the innovative dishes, accompanied by an extensive wine list. The ambiance is refined and sophisticated, without being pretentious; this whole experience is sure to please even the most discerning of foodies.

2. Veltinerkeller

Situated in the centre of the lovely St Moritz Bad, Veltlinerkeller is a cosy, intimate restaurant with a tasteful décor that gives it a lot of character and ambiance. Its honest, unpretentious Swiss and Italian dishes are served with passion, and include delicious homemade pastas (with especially good pizzoccheri) and superb meat and fish, much of which is cooked on a charcoal grill right before patrons’ very eyes.

3. Chesa al Parc

Part of the splendid five star Kulm Hotel, Chesa al Parc is a fantastic restaurant that has a wide range of authentic Swiss cuisine, including a particularly good fondue and an exquisite Bündner Soup. The restaurant’s décor is also very traditional, with an extensive, beautiful terrace that offers spectacular views of the adjacent park and the Alps beyond.

4. Chesa Veglia

Chesa Veglia, is located in a gorgeous and authentic Engadine farmhouse, converted almost a century ago into the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. The venue will have guests spoilt for choice, comprising of three different restaurants and two bars. Each of these five sections boasts a beautiful, Alpine décor with a charming rustic ambiance. In Pizzeria Heuboden, patrons can enjoy authentic Italian pizza in a relaxed atmosphere, while Grill Chadafö offers refined, sophisticated cuisine in an elegant setting. Patrizier Stuben is there to introduce guests to a range of sumptuous and intriguing delicacies from Switzerland and beyond.

Trutz

Views of St Moritz don’t get much better than this. Trutz is located on the slopes themselves and offers dazzling views of the surrounding mountains and lakes from all sides. This cosy, rustic hut serves authentic Swiss food including a Grison barley soup along with the local streusel cake and Kaiserschmarrn. It is also a lovely spot for a post ski or hiking snack, or a comforting hot chocolate break.

6. Viv Bistro

For a taste of some fabulous regional dishes in a bright, informal and contemporary setting, Viv Bistro is a wonderful little spot. Part of an equally great spa and swimming pool complex, this modern restaurant serves sublime, simple food, all made from fresh, regional produce. The menu includes a delicious eggs benedict, lovely organic burgers and sublime homemade pastas. The terrace also offers absolutely breath-taking views of the surroundings.

7. Dal Mulin

Located right in the centre of town, the recently opened Dal Mulin embraces rustic style in its décor, with modern, clean touches. They serve exquisitely presented, delectable Italian dishes. Particularly delicious are the salads and oxtail ravioli. The wine list is very detailed and extensive, covering a large range of wines from countless countries and regions.

8. La Marmite

Situated on the wonderful Corviglia mountain itself, La Marmite is renowned for being one of the highest restaurants in the world. It is part of the Mathis Food Affairs establishment, a grand, modern building that stands out against the white landscape. It has six restaurants that provide a classy change from standard ski fare. La Marmite is the most sophisticated and elegant of the restaurants, serving exceptionally high quality dishes ranging from venison to lobster to caviar, all while patrons enjoy truly spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
