It can be tough to sift through the huge range of options for places to stay in Stockholm so we thought we would help lighten the load a little. A great option for one or two people on a budget, this apartment is light and airy as well as being excellently located. It’s in the neighborhood of Norrmalm and is right next to Drottninggatan, which is one of Stockholm’s main shopping streets and less than a 10-minute walk away from the central station. Norramalm is full of great places to eat, grab a drink, or a cup of coffee as well as being excellent for shopping. It’s also in the business district of Stockholm so this place could suit business travelers. The apartment is a studio so if you are looking for a cozy base to explore the city from, this is perfect.

Country charm in Tyreso

If you are looking for something slightly more relaxing and calm, then this weavers cottage built in the 1850s is a great place to look at. Tyreso is in Stockholm County and is less than an hour by car or public transport from central Stockholm. It is most famous for Tyreso national park, one of Sweden’s most impressive outdoor spaces and an incredible place to explore. This cottage gives you the best of both worlds: access to the stunning Swedish countryside as well as a quick connection the city. You can use the wood-fired sauna as well as the fireplace to make it a very cozy experience. It is an all in one room, so it is ideal for a couple. There is even an orangery to explore.

Stockholm and Scandinavia, in general, are famous for their sense of sleek style and simple yet incredibly elegant design. This one bedroom top floor apartment is a stellar example of that, with fantastic furniture and a clean and graceful aesthetic. Delightful apartment with balcony

Central Stockholm is fantastic but—like most big cities—can at times be quite hectic, so if you want somewhere a little quieter but close to the city then this is the place for you. This two bedroom apartment is close to both Bjorkhagen and Hammarbyhojden metro stops, making it incredibly quick to get into central Stockholm. Bjorkhagen has a number of lovely small cafés and shops as well as St. Marks Church, one of Sweden’s leading examples of functionalist architecture. Staying in this part of Stockholm makes it feel more like you are in a small town but with the benefit of being less than 10 minutes from the center of the city.

Named after a former resident who lived in the apartment for forty years, “Lindh” is a beautiful and very stylish apartment located in the old town. It has been recently renovated and is excellent for solo travelers and couples—it could even host three if you were in a small group. It has a lovely, well-equipped kitchen if you want to cook and space to work with a desk for anyone needing to get work done. It is so well located that you can almost hear the buzz of the Royal Place from the apartment, making it a fantastic place to stay in Stockholm.

Arty, light, and fresh, heart of city

A perfect place for families, this entire apartment is fantastically located in Sodermalm. It’s light and airy and has three beds as well as a very spacious kitchen. It is walking distance from a number of excellent Stockholm attractions, including vitabergsparken and Sofia’s church. Another Gamla Stan spot, this is one for bigger groups, with this place taking up to eight guests. The property is split over four floors, the fourth one being a rooftop terrace with incredible views of Stockholm. This place is all about style. It is fantastically well furnished with original vintage furniture, has a library full of books, and even has a fireplace. In terms of its location, it is in super stylish Ostermalm, which is full of wonderful shops, restaurants, and cafés. It is arguably Stockholm’s most up-market district and contains a brilliant food hall, the Swedish history museum, and Karlaplan park. Royal View in the heart of Stockholm

Located in a beautiful old bank, this stunning apartment has incredible views, a marble entranceway, and space for up to four people. It also has a bathroom with a free standing bath to add to its luxurious feel. This apartment is on Skeppsbron, a long and wide street on Gamla Stan that has a number of beautiful buildings to admire—as well as being right on the water. Viksberg Castle – Live Like a King in Stockholm

This is something really quite special! Built in the 17th century, Viksberg castle is about a 30-minute drive from central Stockholm and just minutes away from Sodertalje, which is on the banks of the stunning Lake Malaren.
