Love of Lesbian
Popular Catalan indie-pop band Love of Lesbian sings not in Catalan but in Spanish. Their 2012 album La Noche Eterna reached the number 1 album position in Spain the same year. Love of Lesbian performs on the Stubhub stage late on Saturday night at 12:45 am.
This British band can be recalled from their hits such as ‘Charity’ and ‘Selling Jesus’ back in the mid 90’s. Skunk Anansie, with the lead singer Skin, regrouped in 2009 and has since then released three studio albums – their latest album Anarchytecture came out in 2016. Skunk Anansie performs on the Estrella Damm stage on Saturday night starting from 2:15 am.
The Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice will take the audience on a musical journey, with his beautiful voice, during the first festival evening on the Estrella Damm stage at 8:45 pm. Rice released his third and most recent album My Favourite Faded Fantasy in December 2014 but will hopefully include some of his older material to the evening’s set as well.
Formed in 2007 in London, Crystal Fighters mixes electronic, indie and folk music styles and even traces of Basque folk can be detected in their jolly melodies. Best known for their tracks ‘You and I’ and ‘Love is all I got’, Crystal Fighters will climb on the Estrella Damm stage on Friday July 8th, at 11:30 pm.
Best known as the lead singer of the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant has succeeded ever since the 80’s in his impressive, 40-year long solo career releasing 10 studio albums. Plant is regarded as one of the most influential rock singers of all times and can be spotted on the Estrella Damm stage on Saturday night at 11:15 pm – definitely a gig not to be missed!
Grammy-winning American band Alabama Shakes brings a nice twist of blues rock to this year’s Cruïlla festival. The songs of the band, together with the lead singer, and guitarist Brittany Howard’s voice, have been compared to performers like Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin. Alabama Shakes climbs on the Stubhub stage on Saturday night at 9:45 pm.
