Lisbon has become a hot spot for digital nomads and freelancers who are looking for a great quality of life on a budget. Due to this fact, co-working spaces seem to be popping out of the woodwork, and from artistic cafés to shaded terraces, there are plenty of places to sit and focus while also enjoying society. Rather than staying holed up at home every day, digital nomads can venture out and find a community, and these are a few of their best choices.

CoWork Lisboa

Among the first spaces to open, CoWork Lisboa calls the trendy and creative LX Factory home. This mini neighborhood also has concept restaurants, cozy cafés, and eclectic shops along the street, while on the second and third floors of the renovated factory buildings are a variety of businesses. CoWork Lisboa sits among these entrepreneurs and gives others a chance to mingle while they work, whether it’s on a single occasion or long-term. Digital nomads can rent desk space on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, and meeting rooms are available as well. Are you curious and want to learn more? Call them to schedule a visit for free.

Second Home

This comfortable area filled with light and covered in plants, with a food court downstairs, can make many freelancers feel at home, which may be why Time Out Market calls their co-working space “Second Home.” Look into their different membership packages and book your plant-filled space for summer, a roaming package, or your own studio. Prices vary depending on the package selected, from €200 to €350, and some come with perks including surfing and yoga lessons.

Todos means everyone in English, and everyone is welcome to this creative co-working hub. Space is set up ready to accommodate many types of creative professionals, from communications and advertising to film production, photography, and art. Feel free to send them a message and see if space is available on the days you want to visit.

Cowork Central

Close to Second Home in Cais do Sodré is Cowork Central, yet another comfortable and welcoming spot in this popular neighborhood; it comes with space for up to 50 nomads. Either pay as you visit for €15 each time or book more access from flexible to monthly desk space. There is even an option to book your own desk for a three-month period. Perks include multiple offices and kitchen amenities, as well as proximity to the Tagus River (which is great when you need a breather and want to enjoy being outside).

Surf Office

What do you do when you’re part of a team whose members are scattered? Occasionally you plan an office retreat! Surf Office is a space for teams to come together and work on their community building, and they offer everything from simple work space to surfing and camping retreats. Perhaps it’s not your typical co-working office, but this is certainly another cool concept space with a bigger picture in mind.

North of Alfama, in eastern Lisbon, is the WorkHub, where freelancers can rent an attic-based desk for €100 per month or visit for €10 per day. There is also a light-filled first floor where digital nomads can secure desks for €120 per month.
