We’ve found the flowery place of your dreams in a quaint little village in Poland…

Yes, a quaint little village in Poland is home to dozens of houses painted in intricate flower paintings.

Zalipie, a fairytale town north-east of Krakow, has a really cool tradition of decorating its homes, corridors, churches and schools with murals of gorgeous flower bouquets.

The paintings first appeared after furnaces and chimneys were installed back in the 1800s. Who began the tradition? The wonderful women of the village of course – they decided to add a dash of colour to the buildings to cover up their blackened sooty walls.

Luckily for us, the tradition continued and visitors can still see the town in all its flower power glory! And if you go in the spring, you’ll be able to see the village’s annual flower painting competition in action. FYI, it takes place after the feast of Corpus Christi.

Everywhere you go, you’ll see vivid flowers…
