Even though Warsaw‘s brunch scene was virtually non-existent some ten years back, now the city boasts many places that not only offer breakfast dishes all day long, but also host weekly all-you-can-eat buffets. Start your day right with fresh-from-the-oven bread, creamy oatmeal, and eggs every which way with our guide to the city’s best breakfast and brunch spots.

1. AÏOLI

Restaurant, Contemporary, European, Polish

If you see a long line outside of a restaurant before it even opens at 9am, chances are you are standing right in front of Aioli. With two locations in the city, Aioli is a staple on the Warsaw’s breakfast scene. The menu features international classics such as shakshuka, the bacon sandwich, and sausage and eggs, all served with freshly baked bread. The fatty breakfast will not slim down your wallets, however, as on weekdays every breakfast costs a symbolic 1 Polish cent when you order a coffee. During the weekends, the promotion works in reverse, which means that for every breakfast dish, you get a coffee virtually for free.

2. Bułkę przez Bibułkę

Restaurant, Cafe, Contemporary, Polish

No matter the time of day, it is always breakfast time at Bułkę przez Bibułkę. Known for its delicious sandwiches, the place also serves mouthwatering egg dishes and fruity smoothies. Those who like their breakfasts with a side of bubbles, can enjoy prosecco for just five złotys (US$1.35), while those who prefer a caffeine boost in the morning can reach for cappuccino at the same price.

3. SAM Powiśle

Restaurant, Contemporary, Polish

Part bakery, part coffee store, part deli, SAM Powiśle has something for everyone regardless of culinary preferences or dietary restrictions. With oatmeal and granola made from organic oats, shakshuka from free-range chicken, and fruits, vegetables, and dairy sourced form local farmers, this is a great place for those who care about what they put in their stomach.

5. Tel Aviv Food & Wine

Restaurant, Middle Eastern, Vegan, Vegetarian

Great option for vegans, vegetarians, and all Middle Eastern cuisine enthusiasts, Tel Aviv Food & Wine offers Israeli breakfasts classics like shakshuka with tofu-egg, hummus, grilled eggplant, and vegan chorizo sausage. The long wine list will surely convince all boozy brunch advocates.

6. Latawiec

Lodge

Every Sunday from 11 am till around 4 or 5 pm, Latawiec offers all-you-can-eat brunch. Wide tables bend slightly under the weight of fresh fruits and vegetables, soups, cheeses, meats, salads and warm dishes. Kids under six years old eat for free, making it a great spot for large families with small children.

7. The Cool Cat

Restaurant, Contemporary, Middle Eastern

For The Cool Cat, breakfast is a state of mind not to be contained by arbitrary timeframes, which means you can order it throughout the whole day. The menu lets you embark on a culinary journey around the globe, from Vietnamese bánh mì with Korean pâté to Middle Eastern tabbouleh and shakshuka. This is also a great place for coffee enthusiasts who can not only choose between espresso-based coffees, but also Chemex, drip, and Aeropress.

8. Śniadaniownia

Restaurant, Contemporary

Born from the true love of healthy and filling breakfasts, Śniadaniownia (from Polish śniadanie, meaning breakfast) is a restaurant dedicated solely to the art of morning munching. With cosy décor and unassuming atmosphere, this spot is great for long, lazy mornings. The menu features breakfast staples like omelettes, bagels, and pastries that are still hot from the oven.

9. Café Bristol

Cafe, Polish, Coffee

Café Bristol is not for those who like to eat their breakfast in joggings or PJs. Located on Krakowskie Przedmiscie Street, this elegant spot offers an amazing view on the historical part of Warsaw. Famous for its pastries and cakes, it is worth considering ordering a dessert after your eggs omelette or toasted bagel.

10. Targ Śniadaniowy

Farmers' Market, Contemporary, Street Food, Polish

Every Saturday, local farmers and restaurateurs prepare their stalls for a flood of hungry crowds who are impatient to try out delicious foods and share them al fresco with friends. A visit to Targ Śniadaniowy has become a weekly tradition for many locals who enjoy the multitude of options. It is also a perfect place for families with children, so bring your blanket and enjoy fresh foods from dozens of local sellers. Don’t forget to bring a big bag, as you will surely want to take some jams and other items home.
