1. Café 22

Café 22 is a swanky venue that serves up great milkshakes, coffees and teas. Café 22 is widely regarded as Szczecin’s most fashionable coffeehouse. But the best thing of all is the view. Café 22 is so named as it is located on floor 22 of Szczecin’s highest building. The food menu also has tasty treats such as Polish pancakes (naleśniki), chilled pavlova and salty caramel ice cream. On a summer evening, it also serves as a wonderful place to watch the sunset, as cocktails are served and it stays open until 11 p.m.

Cup and Cake (by Izy Bar) is located at plac Orła Białego and is a cosy and small venue, perfect for a decent coffee and good cake. There are two parts to the café: the upper seating area is more private, and the downstairs section is brighter and overlooks the pedestrian street. To accompany your cappuccino or latte, try one of their speciality muffins. The range is always changing, sometimes they have cartoon characters on buns in their colourful display.

3. Cafe Bezka

Cafe Bezka‘s enticing menu features sumptuous ice creams, salty tarts and healthy sandwiches. As well as a good coffee selection, try one of the fancy teas, which are served in elegant glasses. Their classic torty (cakes) come in a range of flavours and colours, and get excellent reviews.

Szyszka Restaurant&Cafe is another stylish café in Szczecin’s up-and-coming coffee shop scene. It sits in an outdoor grassy area and has a patio that is popular in summer. Best of all are the truly delicious and well-prepared hot chocolates and smoothies. The coffee is also served to perfection, and Szyszka has a hearty menu for lunches including galareta z dorszem i warzywami (jelly with cod and vegetables) and zeberko z warzywami (ribs with vegetables).

5. Cafe Niebko

Cafe Niebko is located next to the Botanical Gardens and inside the Muzeum Techniki i Komunikacji Zajezdnia Sztuki (technology and transport museum). The coffee menu has over ten varieties, including some iced options. The tea menu is also extensive, with teas from Earl Grey to Jasmine Gold to Refreshing Mint. Food-wise, try the green egg salad, the zupa warzywna (vegetable soup) or the range of cakes and pastries. Please note that it is closed on Mondays.

6. Cafe Vanilla

Another great cafe to Szczecin’s growing repertoire is Cafe Vanilla. The coffee range is wide, including vanilla frappés, coffee with caramel and the usual flat white, cappuccino, etc. There are good chocolate cakes, fruity ice creams and tea with honey and lemon. It has open plan seating and is a standalone building.

7. Cafe Castellari

Cafe Castellari is a famous local chain of ice cream and coffee houses that dates back to 1946. Expect the best ice cream in town from a menu that boasts an astonishing and eclectic range. You can even design your own ice cream here, but recommended specials on the delicious menu are mint, banana split, forest scent and the ‘Jamaica’. To go with this, of course coffee and tea are also served to an excellent standard.
