Lithuania‘s third largest city and only port, Klaipeda is a popular destination for summer tourism, cruise ships, and as a gateway to the stunning Curonian Spit. Due to centuries of international influence, Klaipeda has a different feel than Vilnius or Kaunas, making it a must-visit for architecture lovers as well as foodies. Klaipeda has some excellent restaurants and cafés, so visitors should be prepared to feast!

Stora Antis

Serving traditional Lithuanian food in a 19th-century stone basement, Stora Antis is a must-visit during any trip to Klaipeda. The homemade borscht served with Lithuania’s dark rye bread is to die for. In addition, the staff are very pleasant, sometimes even treating customers to vodka shots and sharing the long history of the building. Stora Antis has an ample menu with numerous options, thus we suggest it as a stop for all visitors to Klaipeda looking to taste the highest quality Lithuanian dishes.


Momo Grill

The wonderful Momo Grill is another highly recommended stop for foodies visiting Klaipeda. This small, hip restaurant features wooden and tile interiors, a partially open kitchen, and chalkboard menus. Their menu largely features grilled meats cooked to perfection with tasty sides. The herbed butter that accompanies the bread is also a treat. Because of the small number of tables, reservations are recommended.

The business lunch menu changes daily and offers workers affordable yet satisfying meals. Desserts and coffee are also available for a sweet end to a family meal out.

Coco Restobar is an Asian fusion restaurant serving lunch and dinner. Dishes include Indian samosas, tiger prawns, curry dishes, and stir-fried noodle bowls. The late hours and extensive drink menu makes Coco Restobar a good option for late meals followed by drinks.

This fine dining restaurant is located on the Meridianas ship moored along the Dane River. The newly renovated restaurant features a menu full of high-end ingredients such as black truffles. The menu contains several seafood dishes and meat dishes, although options for vegetarians are limited to a simple pasta. A set tasting menu is also available for guests, featuring the Meridianas’ top offerings, such as chicken liver pâté, cod with Hollandaise sauce, lamb rump, and two desserts.
