Amalfi, the eponymous town on the fabled Amalfi Coast boasts a central location at almost the midpoint along the coastal road. It is a good base for an extended visit as many hotels offer parking, and there is regular ferry and bus service to other Amalfi Coast towns.

Tucked into a residential courtyard, this family-run hotel feels like you are miles away from the bustle of town instead of only a 2 minute stroll. Rooms are simple with ceramic tiled bathrooms and air-conditioning. There is an elevator and a real plus is the hotel’s own garage which will transfer your luggage to your room. Even if you are not a breakfast person, it is worth your while to wake up early and start your day on the elaborately frescoed dining room.

This quaint hotel is well located near Amalfi’s main beach and cathedral. The structure dates back to the 1200s so keep that in mind if you love all the mod cons. That said, the air conditioning is efficient and the WiFi strong.
