Galleria 19 hosts live music, but is renowned for its mix of local beats and house anthems. This cutting-edge cultural centre, housed in a former wool factory, is one of the city’s best clubbing venues. A mix of live events and heaving DJ sets will have you partying into the wee hours. The bar-lined Piazza Bellini welcomes a young, hip crowd for people-watching, lively conversation and refreshing aperitivi around Ancient Greek ruins. The east side of the square attracts visitors, while locals gravitate to the west. Enjoy a little bar-hopping while rubbing elbows with students and cooling down with a spritz. Piazza Vanvitelli beckons visitors to the heart of the bourgeois Vomero district, where you’ll find buzzing cafes, bars and restaurants slinging cappuccinos and creamy gelati to everyone from stiletto-wearing nonni (grandmas) to stylish teens taking selfies. This fashionable Neapolitan neighbourhood also offers panoramic views of the Bay of Naples, Mount Vesuvius and the island of Capri, as well as luscious, art nouveau-style buildings.
