With an international feel and casual atmosphere, Neon City is a ruin pub that invites visitors to feel at home. Foosball tables, large screens on which to watch the match of the day, a chilled out terrace…everything here is geared towards fun, which makes it a popular spot for students, visitors, and pretty much everyone.
Decorated like a pirate ship, this quirky pub is both a great place to enjoy a meal (they are known for their gargantuan portions) and for casual drinks in the evening. As well as classic refreshments including local beers and wines, there’s also an extensive pálinka (Hungarian fruit brandy) menu allowing guests to try one of the country’s national drinks. Calico Jack prides itself on catering to everyone, so there’s plenty of non-alcoholic beverages, vegetarian food options, and a kids’ menu.
A centrally located bar with a welcoming atmosphere and varied drinks menu, Drazsé is a local favorite. The outdoor terrace is popular during spring and summer, while inside the ambience is relaxed and inviting. Board game nights and other events keep locals coming back, as does the selection of cocktails, draft beer, and local wines. For those who don’t drink alcohol, there’s a that which is more than just soda and juice: homemade iced tea, fresh lemonade, and interestingly flavored coffees are all available, too.
The frontrunner for cocktails in Debrecen, as its name suggests, Miami Cocktail Bar specializes in…well, cocktails. There are over 70 on the menu, from classics such as mojitos and piña coladas, to more original concoctions. Centrally located with an outdoor terrace for sunny days and warm evenings, it’s the perfect place to catch up with friends with a drink in hand, or kick off a night of bar hopping in the city.
Some of the best coffee in Debrecen, refreshing drinks such as fröccs – a wine spritzer – and a relaxing atmosphere both day and night, Mokka is one of Debrecen’s best bars for a social gathering. Relax on the outdoor terrace with a craft beer or cocktail, or head inside to make the most of the chilled out mood during the afternoon. Things get a little livelier in the evening, making it a great option to begin a night out in the city.
Known for its delicious cocktails and serving a dual purpose as both a bar and club (with emphasis on the club side of things), Mickeyz is a popular choice in Debrecen for a night to remember. Only open on Friday and Saturday evenings,DJs turn the space into a place to dance the night away and the bar prides itself on creating an atmosphere in which to forget your worries and live in the moment.
