From specialty teas, to herbal mountain teas and the traditional Japanese experience, sometimes all you need in life – or in Berlin – is a good cup of tea. First, you will need to find the right place to make your tea dreams come true, and that’s where we come in. Here’s our list of the best places to drink tea in Germany’s capital.

Tee Salon Iki is easily one of the best places to drink a cup of tea in Berlin. The friendly, knowledgeable owner concocts all sorts of herbal and honey brews, including rare mountain teas, all made from natural products from Greece. What’s more, they’ve kept their prices reasonable, despite being in one of the hippest areas in Kreuzberg. The atmosphere is warm, humble, and inviting, and the cakes and biscuits are delicious.

2. DaBangg Teehaus

This is a small, hidden Korean teahouse offering an authentic experience to any tea lover. Their traditional green tea hails from the famous Hadong region, traditionally harvested and known as a royal tea in Korea. Tea is harvested according to the month and rains, and is served hot or cold. They also serve small, delicious meals within a beautiful, homely atmosphere. The intimate setting makes reserving a table a good idea.

The plush old-world lounge blends the best of English and French traditions for a truly unique tea experience in Berlin. Sit back, relax, and be grand while enjoying a cup of fruity fresh scents, taken from a selection of over 65 teas from Mariage Frères.

This hip, high-end tea hub has an amazing selection of teas on offer, including Yerba Mate and Moroccan mint. Their friendly, helpful staff are also on hand to explain any far away tea names you might not understand.

Macha-Macha is a tranquil escape that provides solace in the hectic area around Hermannplatz. The teahouse is the work of award-winning designer Carsten Kraemer, who has taken inspiration from the Japanese tradition to create a calm and cultured atmosphere. Anyone who loves matcha tea – which means “pure tea” – will have found a home among the traditional green tea, beautiful teapots, and the delicious matcha cheesecake. The space also offers traditional tea ceremonies, meditation, tea seminars, and ceramics and handicrafts exhibitions.
