Owners, Ling Ma and Xiaoting Zhang, originally moved to the city to study, ending up in the restaurant game by accident. The food concept and culinary roots reflect the origin of its owners, serving up Chinese noodles and other authentic dishes. 2. Ryong

Ryong is the vegan and vegetarian Asian fusion restaurant on bustling Torstraße. 3. Shiso Burger

Shiso Burger is the street-food burger restaurant that brings an Asian touch to its delicious burgers. Usually opting for prime Angus beef, they will also, on request, serve up your burger with Japanese Wagyu-beef. Non-beef lovers are also catered for with Shiso Burger’s range of vegetarian burgers, and fish burgers that use high-quality salmon, shrimp and tuna. 6. Transit Restaurant Mitte

Transit has two locations in Berlin – having originally opened in Friedrichshain, they have recently opened a sister place in Mitte. Both follow the same concept, authentic Southeast Asian flavours served in a tapas style. The menu is diverse, with well-known favourites, and they pride themselves on serving fresh, homemade food. The flavours are a mixture of Thai and Indonesian, and the menu has a range of dishes, but the duck pancakes, or ‘Duck in Pyjamas,’ is a classic favourite. With red lanterns, a dark interior and romantic lighting, it’s a cosy spot to try a selection of wonderfully made Asian treats.

7. Cocolo Ramen

Part of the Kuchi restaurant group, Cocolo Ramen, in Mitte and Kreuzberg, brings Japan to Berlin in a traditional way.
