1. BrennNessel

BrennNessel is one of Dresden’s top addresses for vegetarian and vegan food. Whether you come in for a quick bite or a three-course meal, the menu bursts of culinary treats and creative dishes, including the likes of nettle pasta with pumpkin and oyster mushrooms, spinach lasagne or a spicy couscous bake. A bonus is all pasta dishes are available as gluten-free options as well.

2. Falscher Hase

Around the corner from the Äußere Neustadt quarter and tucked in a courtyard behind an unimposing house front, the small Falscher Hase restaurant serves vegan dishes. From organic products and regional produce, the chefs create veggie stews, leek salads and creative main courses from pasta Napoli to soy steak burgers. The menu varies with the season, and daily specials are available.

3. v-cake

Those with a sweet tooth will want to stop at v-cake at least once to indulge in the homemade vegan cakes, muffins, crêpes and fresh soft ice cream in the summer months. For savoury cravings, the cosy café serves soups, sandwiches and Flammkuchen as well as a number of selected warm lunch options daily.

5. LadenCafé aha

If you’re travelling with omnivorous friends, the LadenCafé aha is the place where everyone in the group will find something they like. The crossover between café and shop is open for breakfast through dinner and offers substantial meat and plant-based dishes, including vegan varieties of spaghetti bolognese and Russian Borschtsch.
