For a nation not exactly acclaimed for its cuisine, Berlin has been growing an impressive array of fine dining restaurants, embracing gourmet food that boasts both diversity and creativity. Many of the restaurants on our list also have a few Michelin stars as a mark of their outstanding quality.

1. Facil

Hotel Restaurant, Restaurant, Contemporary

Facil is one of Berlin’s most renowned fine-dining spots, having earned itself two Michelin stars since it opened its elegant doors in 2001. The dining room boasts large windows and minimalist décor. The seasonal menu, designed by Michael Kempf – who was awarded “Chef of the Year” by Der Feinschmecker magazine in 2014 and 2015 – uses only fresh and mostly local ingredients to produce light, luxurious and fine-flavored fare. All of which can be followed by award-winning desserts.

2. Weinbar Rutz

Restaurant, Wine Bar, Contemporary

Treat your sophisticated self to a night at this stylish wine bar and eatery. The food is daring, creative and, most importantly, mouth-watering. Chef Marco Müller and his team were awarded two Michelin stars for the first time this year. The wine list is also like no other, offering more than 1,000 wines of the highest quality to choose from, earning its status as Berlin’s best wine bar. Book a table now to taste what all the fuss is about.

Set in the exclusive Adlon Hotel, this two-Michelin-star restaurant screams luxury, sensuality and indulgence. The European-inspired kitchen aims to take diners on a journey of flavors, and into the personal story of its chef, Hendrik Otto. Every dish is marked with his personal touch, inspired by family recipes and the memories of his childhood spent cultivating fruit and vegetables.

5. Glass Berlin

You’ll find this classy establishment in the borough of Charlottenburg. Glass offers contemporary, seasonal Arabic cuisine set in a sleek atmosphere. The restaurant is led by chef Gal Ben-Moshe who moved to Berlin in 2012 to open Glass after a culinary education under greats like Jason Atherton, Marcus Wareing and Grant Achatz. Since then his name has become synonymous with award-winning, avant-garde cuisine.

6. Hugos

This chic dining room is situated on the 14th floor of the Hotel Intercontinental in Charlottenburg, which means dinner is served with incredible, panoramic views of the city. Acclaimed chef Eberhard Langer whips up a variety of creative dishes like the imperial caviar and gillardeau oysters, which have earned Hugos a Michelin star. A four course meal will cost you more than €100, but there’s also a fantastic wine bar that opens at 6PM every day if you still want to enjoy the view.
