Alte Nickolaischule used to be a secondary school dedicated to St. Nicholas, dating back to the 12th century. The impressive size of the new Renaissance building is due to the rebuilding of the entire structure after a massive fire in the 16th century. Nowadays, the protected spot hosts a restaurant within its grandiose auditorium.
