Updated: 1 March 2016
Secret Surface, the work for a international group of artists, opens in Berlin this weekend. The exhibition is at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin, Mitte and asks where and how meaning materializes. The artists, funded by arts councils from the UK, USA, and Germany, have deliberately dispatched with the occidental world view and instead indulged their interest in the superficial. The artists ask their audience to reconsider why it is that we are determined to devalue surface appearances, and why we so value complexity in and of itself. The project was curated by Ellen Blumenstein. The project is based on joint research by Ellen Blumenstein and Catherine Wood.

📅   Grand Opening 14 February 2016 5 – 10pm. Exhibition runs from 14 February – 1 April 2016

📍 KW Institute for Contemporary Art, 28 Auguststraße Berlin
