Open-Air Concerts At Gendarmenmarkt

Picture of Brienne Pierce
Updated: 30 June 2016
Similar to the ‘Staatsoper für alle’ event, this outdoor music festival aims to bring classical music to the masses. Only this event ranges from rock to traditional classic music, with everything from jazz to pop in between. The program varies even to include some German and Italian operas. It’s an opportunity for the people of Berlin to get to bask in the gloriousness that is free music, tailored to sonic perfection and presented without pretense. For those who need a little more thrill in their life, there are also some light shows to accompany the sounds. Unlike the previous event, this one costs 40 euros and is a proper concert with a Rolodex of musical players that lasts for a few days. No blankets or lawn chairs necessary because they roll out the red carpets with seating. Tickets should be purchased in advance.

📅 July 21st-25th, All concerts start at 7:30 pm

📍 Mitte, Gendarmenmarkt, 10117 Berlin, Germany
